About Me

Hi! I’d like to tell you a little about myself. For more details about my experience, please take a look at my resume or contact me with any questions you may have. I am a certified teacher with over 8 years of experience specializing in autism spectrum disorders. I have lived and worked in the Northern Virginia area on and off for most of my life. Although I was employed by the Lower Merion School District through 2007, I now operate out of Arlington, Virginia. I am trained in all major methods of therapy, including ABA, Floortime, VB, TEACHH, and PECS, as well as passive restraint and conflict resolution. From 2004 - 2007, I taught autism-specific Language Arts, Math, History, and Science, as well as a course called “Communication Skills,” which teaches social and communication skills in a small-group environment. I have taught in integrated classrooms, led discussions with typical children about autism, and helped raise autism awareness in my school. I have worked on IEP teams with a range of professionals and have benefited from their experience and expertise. I have worked with the following organizations: Cool Cats of NOVA, The Autism Learning Center, and the Wisconsin Early Autism Clinic. Most importantly, I find great joy and satisfaction in working with these very special kids, and I hope to work with your child!
